Tell us about playing in your earlier years: What was it like in Oregon? Is water polo growing there?Ī. You are one of three athletes on the women's national team not from California high schools. I remember feeling a step behind everything during my first international game. The speed of the game was the first thing I noticed playing internationally. What's the biggest difference playing at the international level versus college ball here in the US?Ī. I usually don't take that many shots in a game but my teammates had created openings and 6 on 5 opportunities, and I was in the right spot (luckily my shooting was on!!) That is the great thing about our team it could have been any one of us! I really think I was just in the right place at the right time. What drove you to such an exceptional offensive contribution?Ī.
As a defender, your five goal performance against Greece in the semifinal was an eye-opener.
